Westminster School District will celebrate National School Lunch Week from October 15-19, 2018. The theme this year, "Lots 2 Love", encourages students and school nutrition professionals across the county to share what they love most about the school lunch program.

The National School Lunch Program was signed into law in 1946 and is the largest of the federal child nutrition programs. 30 million students are served healthy lunches every school day. That's 5 billion meals served every year!!

National School Lunch Week was created in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy as a week to promote the benefits of the National School Lunch Program and to recognize the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child's life, and the impact it has inside and outside the classroom.
